How GeoKontrol 2 Interfaces with Electric Powertrains
Electric vehicles transmit the driver’s power demand from the accelerator pedal to the Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) or motor controller. GeoKontrol 2 intercepts this signal — whether analogue DBW or SENT protocol — and adjusts the maximum demand that can reach the VCU based on the vehicle’s GPS position and the applicable zone speed.
When the vehicle is in a zone with a lower speed limit, GeoKontrol 2 caps the demand signal so that the VCU limits motor torque accordingly. Instantaneous Torque Response
Electric motors deliver maximum torque from zero RPM, with no warm-up period, turbo lag, or gearshift delay. This means that when a driver accelerates in an electric vehicle, speed builds rapidly. GeoKontrol 2’s power consumption from the vehicle’s 12V auxiliary system is minimal.
