GDP Transport Requirements

Good Distribution Practice (EU Guidelines 2013/C 343/01, adopted into UK regulation) requires pharmaceutical distributors to ensure that transport conditions do not adversely affect product quality. While temperature is the primary control, GDP Chapter 9 also requires that:

  • Vehicles are operated in a manner consistent with product safety
  • Risk assessments cover all aspects of the distribution process, including driving standards
  • Records are maintained demonstrating control of transport conditions
